| On October 9th, Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department & EMS had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Higdon Elementary School to teach students about fire safety and the important role our members play in keeping our community safe.
The students had the opportunity to participate in hands-on fire prevention activities, practice using a fire hose, learn about fire safety equipment, and explore some of the tools used by emergency responders. They also got to see demonstrations, ask questions, and have fun while learning important safety lessons.
It was wonderful seeing the students so excited, curious, and eager to learn. Teaching children about fire safety at a young age helps build knowledge and confidence that can make a difference in an emergency.
A huge thank-you to Dr. Higdon Elementary School for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to spend time with your students. We also want to thank our members who took time out of their day to make this visit possible. Your dedication to fire prevention and community outreach means so much.
We would also like to extend a special thank-you to Newburg Volunteer Fire Department, Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department for joining us and helping make this fire prevention visit a success. We appreciate everyone who took the time to come out and help educate our community’s youngest learners.
Thank you to all our members and neighboring departments for your continued dedication to fire prevention, community outreach, and keeping our community safe.
Fire prevention starts with education, and we are proud to help our community’s youngest learners become a little safer every day! |
